Alex Knost Bonzer | RVCA Surf

Alex Knost pays homage to The Campbell Bros and their revolutionary surfboard design, the Bonzer. The Bonzer was the first standardized tri-fin surfboard created in 1970 by Malcolm and Duncan Campbell. Over the past year, Knost's friendship with the Campbell Bro's has become a catalyst for several retrospective art exhibitions, exclusive clothing collections, and custom shaped boards. We are honored to commemorate the Campbell Brothers and their forward-thinking surfboard designs with this RVCA x Campbell Bros collection. Moments At Home | Charles Collet

Having spent 20 years skateboarding, a decade of which included pro status, CharlesCollet recently found himself questioning the next steps in his career. Having always shown a keen passion for woodworking, Charles spent the last year studying the art of marquetry in his hometown of Grenoble. Having moved west to Bordeaux upon graduating, we caught up with Charles in his humble new abode to discuss life, skateboarding and his new found love for craftsmanship.

Overthrow Boxing Club | RVCA Sport

August 23 marked the first day of #RVCANY -- our RVCASport Advocates kicked off our New York event series at the legendary boxing club, Overthrow. RVCA Advocates BJ Penn and Jason Parillo led a boxing workout with Overthrow's co-founder, Alicia Napolean. Many Advocates representing the balance of opposites, participated in the intense workout: Surfer & water safety expert, Kai "Kaiborg" Garcia , photographer Andrea Dosouto , street artist/graffiti legend DMOTE , and RVCA founder, PM Tenore . Special thanks to the crew at Overthrow for their hospitality and hosting our RVCA family.

Next time you're in New York, be sure to stop by Overthrow -- jump in one of their intense training session and experience the gym's raw authenticity.

FAHRENHEIT INN | ERWIN BLISS | RVCA EUROPE SURF

Fahrenheit Inn

Last winter in France was a bit of a blur.

A rather wet blur in fact, resulting in a never-ending surge of rain that kept everybody at home, twiddling their thumbs while getting fat on cheese.

It’s in these moments that our expatriate island boys’ nerves are put to the test, and Erwin’s and I’s didn’t last long. Our eyes were glued on the maps, and soon enough we were headed towards a country far south, which we won’t reveal the name of—but that will no doubt look familiar to those who can read the signs.

Upon arrival, a piece of paper with instructions was given to us.

We were told to take the west road. The one leading to that infamous town that was once a gold mine, far behind the mountains.

« Continue straight upon crossing the 14th bridge—the blue one—and don’t stop until you spot the hill of the eternal rainbow » it read.

That was the indication that we would be near our destination: A hotel where the grass was bright green and the oceans folds were warm and hollow.

We had to show up at noon in order to meet the owner of the place. « She will be sunbathing in a pink umbrella » our guide told us.

That’s when we knew we were at the end of the road:

Fahrenheit Inn.

RVCA Trunks | A Trip to the Savage Land

A Trip to the Savage Land

Van tires roll off the pavement a few miles from the coast of mainland Mexico. Modern civilization has long been abandoned, as the search for a rumored beach break begins. The crew drives in on a black sandy trail, passing rundown houses, overgrown palms, and stone-faced Federales, making way through the landscape. They are eager and loose as the whisper of the waves grows closer, summoning a restless edge that calls for a more primal self. Each day starts before sunrise. They drink instant coffee and put together daypacks for the two-mile trek towards the beach. Once the jet-skis are in the water, the sessions begin. Hollow, shore-breaking barrels continue as long as the sun is up, creating a platform for stylish and powerful surfing. Evenings are spent eating locally caught fish and drinking beer from beat-up glass bottles. The need for a trip like this will never go away. Advocates find a fix in these desolate landscapes, feeding off of the raw energy and uncertain safety net that new territory brings. Perspective is gained in a simpler place, as the ongoing search for the Savageland carries on. Visit trunks.rvca.com to view our latest Trunks collection.
